Music

StoneBridge School offers opportunities for student musicians to excel as individual musicians and as members of a larger ensemble. Classes are taught using the Principle Approach, and students learn to play more than notes on a page—they learn the importance of playing from the heart and using music as a tool for ministry.

Music classes train our students in choral work, one-on-one attention in singing techniques, instruments, music appreciation, and folk dancing. Students are taught to read music by learning to play the recorder in 3rd through 5th grade.

Upper School students can participate in band beginning in 6th grade, even if they have no prior experience with their instrument. We have concert-based ensembles for beginners through advanced players who participate in multiple performances throughout the school year. We also have a Pep Band that performs at pep rallies and select basketball games.

The high school offers a choral ensemble and a worship band for advanced musicians. Students are given many opportunities to perform in chapel and on Special Days, as well as in concerts and community service.
