For more than 40 years, StoneBridge School has prepared graduates in Chesapeake, VA for the most competitive colleges and universities in the country – from state flagships and the U.S. service academies to the Ivy League.

College preparation at StoneBridge is not a single course or a senior-year scramble. It is a four-year path of demanding academics, real intellectual work, and one-on-one counseling designed to send each student to a college where they will thrive.

StoneBridge teaches students how to reason from Biblical principles in every area of life. Our curriculum employs elements of classical education, such as foreign languages, history, math and fine arts. We off er several AP and honors courses in science, math, history, literature and more.

Thesis & Oration Projects

Academic writing and oral presentation are distinct features of a StoneBridge education. By their junior year, students will complete a research paper and oral presentation in economics or government. Seniors are required to write a 20- to 25-page thesis paper and orally defend it before a panel of faculty and community leaders. See examples of past student thesis presentations.

Senior Seminar

Bible courses are required throughout a student’s StoneBridge School experience. The Senior Seminar is a year-long required course that helps future graduates take ownership of their spiritual formation and apply their Biblical understanding as they prepare for life beyond high school.

COLLEGE COUNSELING

Our Director of College Counseling offers valuable insight for juniors and seniors to help guide them through each step of their college-bound journey. We work hard to ensure each student develops a strong roadmap to their individual academic interests beyond high school. Our servant leadership emphasis, along with strong college prep academics, helps them to stand out among their peers.
