The Upper School Math Teacher will teach students subjects like algebra, precalculus, calculus, statistics, and advanced placement courses. Daily tasks include planning lessons, creating sample problems, giving assignments, writing tests, and grading. The Math teacher will follow a curriculum and use a textbook and other resources in teaching. In addition to teaching in the classroom, the Math teacher will help students, individually or in a group during school hours or before or after school. Must demonstrate personal proficiency in the math principles of the above-listed courses.
It is expected that the Upper School Math Teacher will…
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in mathematics or a closely related field.
- Have significant knowledge and understanding of the subject(s) being taught.
- Have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Have the ability to meaningfully communicate with students, parents, and administrators verbally and electronically.
- Have the ability to manage the classroom environment with patience and consistency.
- Have confidence in using technology to enhance the learning experience/goals.
