As we move forward with our Building the Future campaign, we’d like to introduce board member Glenn Nunziata, who serves on the facilities committee and is helping us plan for the construction of a new Upper School building.
Nunziata grew up in Massapequa (Long Island), New York, but moved to Virginia to attend James Madison University where he met Laura, a Virginia-native and his bride now of 20 years.
The Nunziatas moved their family to Suffolk, Va., in 2015 when Glenn took a position as the chief financial officer and executive vice president for the global food company Smithfield Foods. He had previously spent about 20 years at Ernst & Young, a large public accounting firm with offices across the eastern United States.
The Nunziatas soon immersed themselves at StoneBridge after enrolling their three children Lucy (9th), Gabe (8th), and Josie (6th) at the school. Both have since become regular staples on campus. Laura has been a constant presence and volunteer for the school while Glenn has served on the board since 2016.
The two chose StoneBridge for their children because they believe the SBS mission aligns with their parenting goals to prepare their children for the realities of an ever-changing world.
“Every day we, as Christians, seem to be a shrinking demographic,” Glenn said. “Our vision is that the StoneBridge community–families, administration, communities, churches, students, faculty–stand firm together and continue to prepare our students spiritually, academically, and to their God-given potential, enabling them to handle the rigors of life with courage.”
As a board member, he said he hopes to serve as “a sounding-board to administration and faculty as they adapt to the changing education environment.”
The Nunziatas are also dedicated donors to the school. Their decision to give is rooted in their understanding of Scripture and their relationship with God.
“We give because we know the inescapable truth that we belong to God,” Glenn said. “We feel so blessed by all the love that we have received from God and, as a result, we want to give love. We want as many families as possible to feel they have access to attend StoneBridge and experience the same changes we have been so blessed to see in our children’s hearts and minds.”
Their dedication to the Lord and to the SBS community is also firmly rooted in Glenn’s favorite Scripture verse, Isaiah 40:31, “But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
